Office Removals Bristol

Smartmove Removals have been undertaking office removals in Bristol for over 15 years. To ensure your business has the best service and the minimum disturbance to your employees, office systems and equipment during the relocation of your office, we have devised some key steps so that your office removal runs smoothly and on time saving you and your business money and downtime:-

STEP 1

Think about your preferred date to avoid disruption on the working week, we suggest a Saturday or Sunday move.

Request a removals appraisal at your property so that the removals firm can assess your equipment and the access to the office.

Confirm that your removals firm is experienced with moving workstations and electrical equipment. The removals firm may advise bringing in a third party tech expert to professionally and safely review the equipment ready for removal to ensure no damage is made during transit.

When you visit your new offices take measurements of large items to be relocated to ensure the equipment will fit round corridors and through entrances.

It is advisable to draw up a floor plan for the desk lay-outs and equipment.

Ensure your telephone lines and internet services are set up ready for relocation in advance to save any downtime for your business.

STEP 2

Make copies of the floor plan to provide to the removals company prior to the move date.

To save time, ensure staff pack up their desks, the removal firm can supply you with the necessary packing material and boxes which you must clearly label for relocation.

Mark up each piece of equipment and furniture to be moved, so that the removers know where to place them in the new office in-line with your floor plan. Numbering or colour coding is advisable.

Indicate clearly on all furniture or equipment that does not need taking to your new offices to avoid mistakes.

STEP 3

Health and Safety of both your staff and the removal company is essential, make sure that all cables are packed and you have taken the advice or services of systems experts to disconnect your computers and electrical equipment.

Do not allow staff to assist the removers on the day, they are professionals and for health and safety reasons it may be advisable to not have staff present during this transition period apart from on an advisory basis.

Discuss with your removers the possibility of document storage, they often have secure, safe storage facilities to store archive business documents that may be taking up too much space.

Remember to notify your electrical and business service suppliers about your change of address.
